Sophie Dungate

Sophie began her career in Dentistry in 2016 when she qualified as a Dental Nurse. She then worked for two years in private practice in Brighton before embarking on her degree in Oral Health Science at The University of Essex in 2018 to pursue a career as a Dental Hygienist.
Throughout the course of her degree Sophie was elected as the student representative for The British Society of Periodontology undergraduate committee, was placed on The Deans’ List of Excellence for Academic Achievement and received the award of ‘Student Hygienist of The Year’ at the 2019 Tooth Wise Future of Dentistry Awards held in London.
Sophie believes in taking a holistic approach when treating her patients and sees it to be important that her patients understand how their oral health and their general health and wellbeing are intertwined with one another. She continues to further her skills and knowledge within her field by regularly attending courses and seminars.
In her spare time away from Dentistry Sophie enjoys travelling, reading, spending time with family and friends and has been a keen horse rider since she was able to walk!
